Empowering businesses with strategic design
In my 12 years as a product designer, I’ve worked on a variety of projects across different industries. I've led significant design initiatives like overhauling a healthcare design system at Syntellis Performance Solutions, redesigning Dropbox's support user experience, and developing user-centric interfaces for the trucking industry at Platform Science.
Currently, I focus on creating safer and more efficient shipping methods for heavy-duty truck drivers. In this role, I manage IoT software designed to ensure the safety of both the driver and the business. The core problem we tackle is the risk of machinery failures on the road, which can lead to significant downtime and safety hazards. Our solution continuously monitors the machinery and proactively notifies both the driver and the back office of potential issues. This allows us to fix problems before they escalate, enhancing safety and minimizing operational disruptions. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how this technology improves daily operations, keeping drivers safe and ensuring smooth business operations.
Mentoring is a passion of mine. At SIDE PRJCT, I empower junior designers and product managers through hands-on projects and career coaching. One key strategy I emphasize is breadboarding and visual chunking, which align design with user needs and the PM’s vision, fostering better collaboration within teams.
I believe consistency in processes and systems is crucial for overcoming common issues in product development. From a young age, I loved building things from scratch, working with wood, metal, and digital mediums. I started my design journey in 2005 with Photoshop and have been hooked ever since.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about surfing, traveling, and exploring nature through biking, walking, and camping. These activities offer me a fresh perspective and inspire my design work in unexpected ways.
I'm currently working on a venture called System Minded, which aims to streamline product development with AI. This service targets SaaS founders and product leadership to solve human problems in team collaboration and development processes.
